John Fulton started Surfing Santa in way back 1985 as a publicity stunt to promote his Windsurfing school. The stunt went worldwide on his first try. The school has long since closed but the tradition has continued for twenty five years as a way to bring attention to the plight of the homeless worldwide. Surfing Santa’s call to the world: Take some of your stuff, toys, food, clothes, blankets, cash, etc, etc, etc and find a shelter, a homeless person, family, charity and make a donation.
